About the Event

The NCB International Seminars have emerged as singular biennial events in this part of the globe which the cement and construction industry the world over look forward to for participation. The continued interest of participants over the years is a testament of benefits reaped by them and their continued patronage has enabled this event reach the milestone of its 16th edition. To kick start and have guided interactions amongst the delegates at the Seminar, the theme of this edition is kept as "Clean and Green is sustainable".

The forthcoming seminar has received an overwhelming response from various industrial sectors, Government, academia, machinery manufacturers & consultants from India and across the globe. Besides panel discussions on key focus areas and keynote addresses from eminent speakers from industry and academia, about 180 technical papers shall be presented in close to 30 technical sessions. More than 70 leading equipment manufacturers and service providers will also showcase their technological prowess, new products and services in a Technical Exhibition, in sync with the Seminar.

While reviewing the developments which have taken place during the intervening period since the last event in the series, especially in the areas of alternate fuels and raw materials, climate change, emissions control, CDM, ready mix concrete, nano-technology, etc. The event will serve for, captains of cement and concrete sector, policy makers, academicians, professionals, engineers and scientists come under one roof and discuss future action plans aimed towards clean and green production and responsible consumption of the resources utilized in cement sector to ensure long term sustainability.

The Indian Cement Industry with current installed capacity of 510 million tonnes is a very important partner for the Government to write an inclusive growth story, a green and sustainable future, pivotal in realizing dreams of people of a "New India". The industry, contributing significantly over the years towards employment generation, government exchequer and railways (by way of freight), has been a pillar of strength for the economy.

Once considered otherwise, the industry has surprisingly proved itself as an environment friendly sector, consuming wastes/hazardous materials, adopting renewable energy and supporting the Swacchh Bharat Mission. The sector continues to invest towards ensuring a greener future for our generations to come.

National Council for Cement and Building Materials (NCB), an apex Research and Innovation organization, under administrative control of Department for Promotion of Industry & Internal Trade, Ministry of Commerce & Industry is organizing the 16th Edition of its International Seminar on Cement, Concrete and Building Materials from 03rd -06th December 2019 at Manekshaw Centre, New Delhi. This will be one highly attended event of its kind where captains of cement and concrete sector, policy makers, academicians, professionals, engineers and scientists will come together and discuss future action plans aimed towards clean and green production and responsible consumption of the resources utilized to ensure long term sustainability in cement sector.

In its concluding session, presentation of National awards for Energy Efficiency, Environmental Excellence and Quality Excellence in Indian Cement Industry to outstanding cement plants shall encourage the industry to seek sustainable and environmentally benign manufacturing and consumption processes.
